Plans & free locations
What each plan includes, and what works without one.
-
No, there’s no free trial. Without a plan, the iPhone, iPad and Android apps and the browser extension connect to the free locations. Every plan has a 30-day money-back guarantee on card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments; crypto and manual payments are final.
Read the Refund Policy -
CopVPN is a paid VPN with free locations. Without a plan, the iPhone, iPad and Android apps and the browser extension connect to the free locations, you can choose any protocol, and “Block ads, trackers & malware” still works. The Windows, Mac, Linux and Android TV apps need a plan to connect.
Get the apps -
Six plans: 1, 3 and 6 months, and 1, 2 and 5 years. Every plan has the same apps, protocols and features, and all 85+ locations in 65+ countries. The pricing page shows today’s prices.
Compare the plans -
The 5-year plan. The longer the term, the lower the price per month. A shorter plan costs more per month, but you commit for less time.
See today’s prices -
The longer plans bought on our website add extra months on top of the term you pay for. You pay for the term, and the plan runs for the term plus the extra months. Plans bought through the App Store or Google Play have no extra months.
See each plan’s extra months -
You pay for the whole term on the day you buy. The per-month price is the total divided over the months the plan runs, extra months included. It isn’t a separate monthly charge.
-
85+ locations in 65+ countries, and every plan, from 1 month to 5 years, includes all of them, plus the Specialty servers for Streaming, Gaming and P2P Torrenting. Without a plan, the iPhone, iPad, Android and browser extension apps connect to the free locations.
Payments & refunds
How you pay, and how the 30-day guarantee works.
-
It covers card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments made through our checkout, within 30 days of that payment, on every plan length, for first purchases and renewals, with one request per payment. Crypto and manual payments are final. App Store and Google Play purchases are refunded by the store.
Read the Refund Policy -
In your account: sign in at my.copaccount.com and open Payment history. Refund requests are made there, for payments the 30-day money-back guarantee covers.
Read the Refund Policy -
The store does. Apple and Google refund purchases made through their stores, so ask the store you paid through. Our 30-day money-back guarantee covers card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments made through our own checkout.
Read the Refund Policy -
No. Crypto and manual payments are final, and the 30-day money-back guarantee doesn’t cover them. If the guarantee matters to you, pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
-
Our checkout takes Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Apple Pay, Google Pay and crypto (major stablecoins), with prices in US dollars. Bank wire is arranged through support at contact@copvpn.com.
Compare the plans -
Yes, in the Android phone, iPhone, iPad and Mac App Store apps, through Google Play or the App Store. The store sets its own prices, store plans have no extra months, and the store handles refunds. On the web, you buy at my.copaccount.com.
Privacy & features
No logs, DNS, the kill switch, ad blocking and encryption.
-
No logs. We follow a no-logs policy, and the Privacy Policy sets out what it covers.
Read the Privacy Policy -
Yes, in the CopVPN apps: “Block IPv6 and keep DNS inside the VPN” is on out of the box. On Android TV it’s always on, with no switch. The browser extension has no DNS setting; while it’s connected, site lookups go through CopVPN.
-
A kill switch blocks your internet traffic if the VPN connection drops, so nothing goes out unprotected. It’s off until you turn it on. On iPhone, iPad and Android it needs a plan, and the Android TV app doesn’t have one.
-
Yes, with “Block ads, trackers & malware”, which blocks known ad, tracking and malware sites on your device. It isn’t antivirus and doesn’t scan files. You choose whether to turn it on. It works without a plan on iPhone, iPad, Android and the browser extension; the Android TV app doesn’t have it.
-
On Android, yes: Split tunneling lets you choose which apps use CopVPN, with a plan. The browser extension has a Bypass list of up to 100 sites that skip the VPN. The Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone, iPad and Android TV apps don’t have split tunneling.
-
OpenVPN uses AES-256 encryption. WireGuard and AmneziaWG use WireGuard’s own cryptography, ChaCha20-Poly1305.
VPN protocols
VPN basics
What a VPN does, and what it doesn’t.
-
A VPN encrypts what your device sends and routes it through a server somewhere else. Your internet provider sees an encrypted connection instead of the sites you visit, and those sites see the server’s address instead of yours.
-
In most countries, yes. Some countries restrict or ban VPNs, so check the law where you are.
-
No. A VPN encrypts your connection and hides your IP address from the sites you visit. It doesn’t hide the accounts you sign in to or what you type into forms.
-
Incognito mode stops your browser saving history and cookies on your device. It hides nothing from your internet provider or the sites you visit. A VPN works on the network; incognito works on your device. They work fine together.
-
On their network, a VPN hides the contents and destinations of your traffic from them. If they manage the device itself, monitoring software on it can see what you do before it reaches the VPN.
Apps & devices
Which app to get, where to get it and what each one has.
-
Windows 10 (1809 or later) and 11, 64-bit; Macs with macOS 14 Sonoma or later; Linux (64-bit .deb); iPhone and iPad with iOS 16 or later; Android 7.0 or later, Android TV included; and the browser extensions for Chrome (116 or later), Edge and Firefox (128 or later).
Get the apps -
Windows (.exe) and Linux (.deb) come from download.copvpn.com; Mac, iPhone and iPad from the App Store; Android phones, tablets and Android TV from Google Play; and the extensions from the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons and Firefox Add-ons. The download page links them all.
Download CopVPN -
No. Install the app, then sign up with your email and a 6-digit code, or with Apple or Google. Without a plan, the iPhone, iPad, Android and extension apps connect to the free locations; the Windows, Mac, Linux and Android TV apps need a plan to connect.
-
From the Mac App Store. The app runs on Intel and Apple silicon Macs with macOS 14 Sonoma or later, and it needs a plan to connect.
Get the apps -
Yes. Download the 64-bit .deb from download.copvpn.com. The Linux app needs a plan to connect.
Get the apps -
Yes, from the same Google Play listing as the phone app. On Android TV, Settings has Protocol, Auto-connect and Premium, and DNS leak protection is always on. It has no kill switch, split tunneling or ad blocking, and it needs a plan to connect.
-
The extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox protects that browser only, with one protocol, Secure Proxy. It has a kill switch for that browser, “Block ads, trackers & malware” and a Bypass list for sites that skip the VPN. Without a plan, it connects to the free locations.
Account & sign-in
Passwordless sign-in, devices and your account.
-
No. CopVPN is passwordless. You sign up and sign in with your email and a 6-digit code, or with Apple or Google. There’s no password to create, change or forget.
-
Check your spam or junk folder, and make sure you typed the email address on your account. If it still doesn’t arrive, email contact@copvpn.com from that address. Don’t share your code with anyone.
Contact support -
Unlimited devices, up to 7 connected at once. A device that’s signed in but not connected never counts. If an 8th device tries to connect, the app says: “You’re connected on 7 devices. Disconnect one of them to connect here.” Nobody already connected is cut off.
Unlimited devices -
Your CopVPN account dashboard. Sign in there to see your plan, devices and payments, and to download the apps. It isn’t a VPN: you connect with the CopVPN apps.
-
In the Android app, open My Account and choose Delete Account. The iPhone and iPad app lets you delete your account too. Or ask us through the Contact page: email contact@copvpn.com from the address on your account.
Contact support -
Email contact@copvpn.com. It’s our only support address. The Contact page lists what to include in your message.

Connecting & protocols
When a network blocks you, drops you or feels slow.
-
Leave it on Optimal: “Picks the best protocol for your network automatically.” To choose yourself, CopVPN has 5 protocols: WireGuard, OpenVPN UDP, OpenVPN TCP, AmneziaWG and Stealth. WireGuard is “Fastest. Best for everyday use where VPNs aren’t blocked.”
VPN protocols -
If the network has its own sign-in page, sign in there first, then connect. If it still won’t connect, switch protocol to OpenVPN TCP: “Slower, but gets through firewalls that block UDP, such as hotels, offices and schools.”
VPN protocols -
Try AmneziaWG: “Disguised WireGuard. For networks that detect and block VPN traffic.” If that’s blocked too, try Stealth: “Looks like ordinary web browsing. For the most restrictive networks, when everything else is blocked.”
VPN protocols -
Try another location, or switch to OpenVPN UDP: “Reliable and widely supported. Good if WireGuard is unstable.” If you’d rather nothing goes out while the VPN reconnects, turn on the kill switch; it’s off until you turn it on.
-
Choose a location closer to where you are, then reconnect. You can also switch protocol: WireGuard is “Fastest. Best for everyday use where VPNs aren’t blocked.” Change one thing at a time, so you can tell what helped.
-
Some apps and sites refuse connections from VPN servers. Try a location in your own country. On Android, Split tunneling, with a plan, lets you choose which apps use CopVPN.
-
In the Specialty tab of the Windows, Linux, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android apps, with a plan. It lists server groups for Streaming, Gaming and P2P Torrenting.
