An app that won’t cooperate
A banking app that expects your normal connection can skip the VPN while everything else stays protected.
Split tunneling VPN
A split tunneling VPN lets you choose apps or websites that skip the VPN, while the rest of your traffic stays inside the encrypted tunnel. CopVPN has it per app on Android and per site in the browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox. It isn’t in our Windows, Linux, Mac, iPhone, iPad or Android TV apps.
On Android it needs a plan. The extension’s Bypass list holds up to 100 sites.

Split tunneling“Bypass list: Sites that skip the VPN”
How it works
On Android, choose apps in “Split tunneling”. In the browser extension, add sites to the “Bypass list”.
The apps and sites you chose use your normal internet connection, so they see your real IP address.
All your other traffic keeps going through CopVPN, encrypted as before.

When to use it
A banking app that expects your normal connection can skip the VPN while everything else stays protected.
Leave a work app outside the tunnel when it needs to see your usual connection.
In the browser extension, add a site to the Bypass list to reach it over your normal connection without turning the VPN off for the rest.
Questions
Split tunneling is a VPN feature that lets chosen apps or sites skip the VPN while the rest of your traffic stays inside it. It’s handy when one app or site doesn’t cooperate with a VPN.
Open Settings in the CopVPN app, go to “Split tunneling” (“Choose which apps use CopVPN”) and select the apps that should skip the VPN. It needs a plan.
In the CopVPN browser extension, add the site to the extension’s VPN bypass list (“Bypass list”: “Sites that skip the VPN”). The list starts empty, holds up to 100 sites, includes subdomains and needs no plan.
No. Our Windows, Linux, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android TV apps don’t have split tunneling. It’s on Android and in the browser extension.
The apps and sites you exclude use your normal connection and show your real IP address, so only exclude ones you trust. Everything else stays protected as usual.
